Out of all my years of being at Ox Ridge, there is so many memories I can share, but that would take days! (And pages!) I will share the most important and most meaningful ones that I have to you instead.

One memory I have from Ox Ridge was in first grade on the last day of school. My teacher was Mrs. Middlestadt, and my class came into the classroom after lunch and there was this big red carpet. At first, I didn’t know what to think. I later found out that the whole class was going to walk the red carpet and then get an award! I got the Kit Kat award. I remember that I really enjoyed seeing what award my friends and classmates got!

Another memory was on my first day of kindergarten when the bus driver drove right past my stop. I was scared about what was happening and shy to say something. I finally stood my timid self up and went to go tell the bus driver that he missed my stop. After I stood up, I felt a lot less timid and shy because I saw my mom running after the bus! I felt a lot better seeing her behind me.

Finally, I third memory I have from Ox Ridge was during field day in third grade. My group and I were at the mat-ball station and when I was running up to kick the ball, I tripped over my own feet and fell in front of everyone! It was so embarrassing!

I could go on and on about my memories at Ox ridge but that would take a very long time. I have really enjoyed my experience at Ox Ridge and enjoyed making memories. I can’t wait to make more memories at MMS too!

  2. Hey guys, I am currently typing potentially my last R&R or whatever of the year. Honestly im sad.
I wasn’t here at Ox Ridge for very long but I’ve still had a great time here.
I have so many things to say, so Ill just say 2 okay?
First, In fifth grade, I can remember all the times we would get to meet some one new some examples of this ar Dr.Math, Ms.Silly and inspector inference. These people have helped me a lot.(also the name inspector inference was stuck in my hear for like 12 days after I met him).
Second, Gore & Dave the most famous Churning Brain Characters ever. Gore & Dave have never ceases to make me laugh. I can only remember the countless times (actually only 3 times) Gore & Dave have had the whole class laughing.
    Thanks for reading my ¨THING¨

  3. Hey guys! I am so sad that my Ox Ridge years are over! Even though I have only been at this school for two years, I have still grown so much in those two years. I would have never been in the place I am without Ox Ridge. Even though I loved this year, my favorite year at Ox Ridge had to be fourth grade. I made so many memories and still continue to make the best memories.
Fourth grade was such an amazing year for me. I met one of my best friends, and we still are besties. On my first day of school at Ox Ridge I was so nervous, I didn’t know what to expect. But so many amazing teachers and my friends made my moving process way less scary and intimidating. I don’t know what I would do without that extra help. I probably would have never made as many friends as I have now. Even though moving schools and making new friends was hard, Ox Ridge made it so much easier.

    -Julia 😉

  4. Ox Ridge has helped me so much for my last year of 5th grade. When I came to this school the kids and teachers were so welcoming and kind to me.

One of my best memories of Ox Ridge was when Julia and I did our “Spillin’ The Teaaaa!” act for the Christmas play. During the play Julia interrupted me SO bad, but in the end it was all good and funny.

Another memory of mine was the Songwriters’ Hall Of Fame that Mrs. Watson had us do for the end of the year. I had fun picking my song and enjoyed listening to other kids choices.

My last memory of Ox Ridge was the practice for the band, orchestra, and chorus end of year concert. It was fun to leave school early and spend time practicing and hanging out with friends.

Overall Ox Ridge is a great school and has taught me a lot, and I’m going to miss it.

  5. Hey guys,
I still can’t believe that my time at Ox Ridge is over. It’s like I still have a few more years left. I guess all good things must come to a end sometime. I can’t describe how thankful I am for me to go to this awesome school. I’ve meet so many good teachers, and meet many nice and caring friends. I will remember these six years at this school for the rest of my life.

My favorite memory was going to my first strings concert. I was very nervous because I didn’t have much experience going on a stage and performing. Also, I was even more nervous when I saw the huge crowd. After all that though I had a great time there and I’ve continued doing strings.

Again though it’s so sad to have to leave this amazing school. I loved all the teachers and students that are here. But on the bright side it’s very exciting moving on in life and going to middle school.

  6. Hi Ryan G
I thought that all of those memories were funny but the best one was when Mathew Morans mom called him in class was the best because, I was there and I started laughing so hard so I totally agree about that being a great memory.

  7. Hi peoples
I have liked all my years at Ox Ridge but there is one year that stood out the most and that was fourth grade. The reason why I this was my favorite year is because, it had most of my favorite memories.

That year I had a lot of fun because, I really liked my teacher Mrs. Rongoe and I had a lot of my friends in that class. But one memory is what really stood out is when me, Ryan Mcgahren and Theo Dumas made a ridiculous slide show about random stuff like a man with a watermellon for a head or some beat up minivan that was on fire drifting around. I had a lot more fun memories also here but this was one of the most fun.

    -BRADY📬📬📬🚽🚽💲💲💲💲👌😬😬

    • BRAD-
This is my last response in my elementary school history. I really liked in your response how you stated your favorite year and what standed out during that year. I also liked when you described the slide show you said it was man with a watermelon for a head or some beat up minivan that was on fire drifting around. I really liked how funny it was.

  8. I will miss Ox Ridge so much, especially some good memories I had.

One was when I was at lunch on my first day at Ox Ridge, in 4th grade and I opened up my lunch box and started eating my sandwich when a radish fell out and I suppose “cool kid” shouted meeesta likes vegetables over and over again. I didn’t understand why eating vegetables was a bad thing but all I knew was that I was getting made fun of. I felt horrible. Thats when Mrs.Valenzano came over to defend me before I made an even bigger fool of myself by crying. She helped me learn how to ignore all the bad comments that people gave me and still give me today. I really thank her for that moment.

    • Hey Emre! I thought you did a great memory on Ox Ridge. I totally agree with you that Mrs. Valenzano did the right thing of defending you. And that kid should not have shouted at you only because you like vegetables. Great memory Emre!!!!

  9. For my last respond on the blog (which I think is) I will be writing about my memories of Ox Ridge. I remember when I was called to deliver a piece of paper to Mrs. Watson’s class I was walking around the school, but I couldn’t find it I was super shy when I was in 1st grade I had already went around the loop in the back for 7 times and I was almost about to give up which I usually never do when I finally found her classroom I was really shy so when I went in I didn’t know what to say..

But luckily I made it out there alive. Another memory I had was I was at extra recess when a tennis ball gets chucked at my eye and the won who threw it was Cesar but he still said sorry and I we are still good friends and that means that friends are always there. I am really going to miss this school I had a lot of memories there and I don’t know what will happen when I go to Middlesex. And that’s why I will miss Ox Ridge…

    • T-Herg-
This is my second to last response in my elementary school career. When you were talking about how shy you were in first grade I liked how you said exactly how many times you went around the loop (witch was 7 times). I also liked when you said “But luckily I made it out their alive.

I liked the second one when Cesar threw the tennis ball at your face on accident, not because you got hurt, I liked it, because it was funny, and how Cesar said sorry and how you are buddys now.

  10. I’ve been at Ox Ridge School for many years and unfortunately I will have to say goodbye in a few days. I will have memories, moments and thing I’ll miss about Ox Ridge School…

Something about Ox Ridge School that I will miss would be the amazing teachers there. They comforted me on my first day of school, and always have greeted me in the hallway. All teachers are so considerate, mirthful and many more great things!

A memory I will never forget was when my 4th grade teacher (Mrs. Sapienza) asked if I wanted to play a funny prank/play on the class. When she asked me this, It reminded me about how each teacher has their OWN unique personality and just how great all the teachers and staff are at Ox Ridge.

The thing that I will miss most about Ox Ridge would be all the teachers, staff and students who made me who I am today. I will miss many life lessons I’ve learned. Though I am excited to walk through the doors of the middle school, It’s going to be sad to leave Ox Ridge behind…

    -Maddy

  11. Hi Watson Winners,
I got so lucy that I could all six years at Ox Ridge with all of my friends that I’ve made in all my years at Ox Ridge. One thing that I know I am going to miss a lot from Ox Ridge is all oft he amazing teacher I have had throught out my years at Ox. Here are a few reasons wwhy I will miss all my teachers. One reason why I will miss the teachers is because of how suppoting they all are, because if you need to talk to someone to help figure out a problem you might have they are always going to be there for you when you need them most.

Another reason why I am going to miss Ox is because of everyone who made Ox Ridge the place it is today, from Dr.Forshaw to the studants that go here. Also another thing about the people inside Ox Ridge is that everyone acts like your friend weather you know them or not. An example of this is when we went outside for extra recess during spanish and Señorita V. was timing how fast our class could run and a second grader herd someone saying “Go Caroline” and then she said “Come on Caroline” and that made me run even faster knowing that someone belives in you.

Thoose were just a few reasons why I am going to really miss Ox Ridge and everyone in it. Here I come MMS!!!

    -Caroline 🙂

  12. OXR Memory

    Hi guys!
I love all the years I have spent at Ox Ridge, but, there are a few things that make Ox Ridge special to me; The Christmas sing along, the lovely teachers, and all the events. One of my favorite, but old memory is:

I was in first grade, in Mrs. Middlestadt’s class. When I got back from eating lunch ( one the second to last day, or first ) Mrs. Middlestadt decorated the room to look like a red carpet. She made the “red carpet” out of red paper, the class would walk down the “red carpet” and we would get a certificate. The theme of the certificate was candy. The reason this old memory was my favorite was because it was such a fun way to graduate for kids in first grade. Mrs. Middlestadt did many other fun activities throughout my year in her first grade class, for example, a Christmas grab-bag. That is when I got one of my favorite toys.
    ~Anna

  13. I will miss so much about Ox Ridge; all of the wonderful teachers, and all of the events. I will miss how much Ox Ridge has taught me, learning and how to be a better person with the Ox Ridge School Code. One of the many memories I’ve had here at Ox Ridge was: Sydney and I were in band with Mr. Walters, we were having a normal band class but, Mr. Allen started walking in to give Mr. Walters something. Mr. Allen started walking over to the drum set and started jamming out. Mr. Walters started playing the blues’ scale and Sydney and I joined in. That was a great, fun moment I had earlier in the year.

I will miss Mr. Allen and Mr. Walters when I go to MMS, i’m also glad to meet new people and teachers. This is a moment that I will never forget, even though it is a small one.

    • Hey Alex,
I really liked all of the detail that you put into your memory. Plus I can totally relate to what you said about missing Mr.Allen and Mr.Walters because I’m going to miss learning cool musical peices from them. Great job!!!
      -Caroline:)

  14. Hi Guys!
Even though I’ve only spent a few years at Ox Ridge, I still have many memories. One of the things that I will miss most about Ox Ridge is all the nice teachers and spending all day with my friends in class. Since fifth grade is almost over, this is the last time I will be seeing the old Ox Ridge since it will be rebuilt starting next year. Some of the memories I have here at Ox Ridge are old, and some are new. One of my old memories is:
My fist time ever at Ox Ridge when I was taking a school tour with my sisters and my mom. I was so excited to see my future school and had been looking forward to it since we had moved to Darien. The tour was coming to end, so last but not least, we went to meet Dr. Forshaw our new principal. I remember walking into his office and the first thing I saw was all the little wooden toy robots on his windowsill. This memory really stuck out to me. So that is my memory.
    Bye!!

  15. This week I am writing one of my last essays (or my last) I guess in my elementary school history. I feel like I still have two or three years to go in elementary school. Now in the last two weeks of the school year, it feels weird, because at the one and a half month point year I was thinking when is school going to end, but now it feels like the first two weeks of the year not the last two.

My favorite memory was when Matthew Moran’s mom called him in the middle of class, and Mrs. Frawley got really mad at him. Another memory I had is in fourth grade after field day we had a really short recess, and everyone started chanting ‘we want recess’ until we got in trouble. My last memory was in fourth grade when I said it was dumb to bring 200 dollars rolled up and I went to Dr. Forshaws office with three other fourth grade kids who told on me. It was funny, because Dr. Forshaw agreed with me and the three other fourth grade kids didn’t have a reason that I should be in trouble.

My favorite tradition is field day, well to be exact the four are capture the flag, matball/kickball, tug of war, and the water balloon toss. I really enjoy capture the flag, because I like how at all times there is a reason to be running or moving. I only like matball/kickball for the kicking part. I don’t really like fielding. I like tug of war, because I feel like any class can win it. The last tradition I really enjoy is water balloon toss. I enjoy this, because it is so nerve racking, but fun at the same time, because you never know if you will drop it, or it will splash on you.

  16. I am will miss everything about Ox ridge all of the Nice Teachers, All of my great friends, and everything that Ox ridge has done for me, I will be talking about a Memory that feels like yesterday. The Memory is that when I First came to this school I tripped on the ground and Mrs.Valenzano helped me up and I will never forget how fast she ran to come and she me and help me.

I was so happy to see on my first day someone cared so much even though I was so new. I really miss Mrs. Valenzano! I will miss Ox Ridge so much. What about you guys. Will you??

    • Cesar-

Your response was really good, I could picture it in my head the whole time. You used good punctuation. I liked how you started off by saying what you would miss about Ox Ridge. Great job😀

  17. My favorite Ox Ridge memory was on my first day of school at Ox Ridge. I was in second grade. I had never been at a public school so i didnt know what to think. When I finally found Mrs. Mcgettigans room I didnt know where to sit. I thought you were allowed to sit wherever you want. When I sat down I realized each desk had a name. I started searching for my real desk and after awhile I finally found it. At the time I was really into birds. You could name any bird and I could describe countless details about it. Also in second grade there were names for the tables. The table names were animals. I just so happen to sit at the owl table. Being the clueless self I was ,I thought the owl case with materials was mine. Until Ms. Amenta found out and yelled at me because people were complaining I was hogging the container. I knew from then on that Public school didnt have as much ¨glories¨ as Private schools.

  18. Dear Watson Winners I have a lot of Ox Ridge memories but my favorite memory is being in this class with all of my class mates and I love all of my teachers, I am going to miss Ox Ridge a lot and I am sad to leave, but I am also happy to be going to MMS next year! I will miss all of you guys even if some of you are on my team I hope you have a great summer! ): (:

  19. I have lot’s and lot’s of ox ridge memory’s but one that really stuck out to me was this year. Kelsey and I were so into are game of spit, we were just finishing a round when we herd the announcements. “18 giraffe, 23 cheetah, 3 zebra, and 4 bear. At this time all the bus’s have been called. Thank you.” said Dr. Forshaw on the loud speaker. Kelsey and I realized WE MISSED ARE BUS. We had a slow pain full walk up to the office and when we got there we were starting to get worried. Our mom’s finely picked us up. and that is a momory from ox ridge that I will never forget.💩

  20. Dear Watson Winners,
I will remember from Ox ridge Miss.Watson and all the amazing teachers, all the fun projects we did!! I will miss the Quote board and all the shops we made like the Ice Cream Shop and the Cupcake Shop. I will miss Churning Brain and all the fun things we did!

  21. My INCREDIBLE 5 years at Ox Ridge has been filled with friends, teachers, staff members, and memories. It would take forever to tell you all about my experience at Ox Ridge. So I am going to tell you two of my favorite things that have happen to me at Ox Ridge. First off thank you to Mrs. Watson for an amazing school year I will never forget!

First I want to talk about Mr.Allen. Mr. Allen has helped me grow as a person and through music. Mr. Allen has taught me that you always have to have a good personalite on life. Mr.Allen is the nicest music teacher I have ever met. Mr.Allen has a wonderful sense of humor and always makes me laugh whether it’s calling me “ Veruca Salts” from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or just saying a random joke. Thank you Mr. Allen!!

The last thing I am going to talk about is all the friends I have met while going to OX Ridge. For example Teagan, Cate, Paulina,Kelsey,Brooke,Hope,Phoebe,Grace Sandoval, Sophie, Grace Riva, and most of all Charlotte Butler. Ox Ridge is a place where i have met all my Best friends here and friends I will have forever. Friends are people I will never forget ever. Thank You To Everyone For being my Best Friend!!!!!!!!

The one thing I learned at Ox Ridge was to never give up and always be yourself. I learned so much at Ox Ridge I will continue you to learn thing the rest of my life. I am not ready to let go of Ox Ridge, but I think we all have to. Goodbye Ox Ridge!!

    ~ Caitlin Kelly

  22. Hello Watsons Winners,
It is really sad finishing my last homework assignment ever at Ox Ridge. But I am sure I can make it FULL OF MONEY.

I have had many memories at Ox Ridge, from hiding under my desk because I was embarrassed once every week for the first two years at Ox Ridge, to becoming Joseph this year, I have a lot of memories to share over my six years at Ox Ridge, so I’ll pick the most funny and important ones of all of you.

In Kindergarten when we had a tee ball day when everybody played tee ball, Matthew Bender hit the ball and I got it and instead of throwing it to the base in front of him, I tried to chase him and tag the ball on his back but I didn’t tag him until he passed HOME PLATE!

Also like Spencer I have to talk about one of my first encounters with Judy. I remember carrying my lunch tray to my table but my chicken pattie fell onto the ground and I started to sniffle and hold back tears. Mrs. Valenzano came over and walked me over to Judy and said “this boy’s food fell onto the floor and he needs to get a new chicken pattie.” then Judy replied with “ alright, but these kids have to learn to carry a tray!”

Another memory is when Will Barber and I learned that we were both going to the same school! We met each other in preschool and it was like friends at first sight. I have enjoyed many memories with him and I hope to make more with him in middle school.

And finally Mrs Watson’s class. Boy do I have a lot to say. These are some things I enjoyed. The Gucci Thrift Shop, The Cookie And Beads Pandemonium, #squad, and How many meters are there in this stick?

I will have memories to keep from Ox Ridge and I know they will stay in the Palace Of Joseph’s Mind forever.(and away from the money section, which does occupy a lot of space.)

  23. Dear Watson Winners,

Over the years, I have had a great experience at Ox Ridge, and I am so sad it is almost over. But like the saying, all good things come to an end, my experience at Ox ridge has to also. Overall, I think this has been a great year, we had a great class, awesome projects, but most importantly, we had an amazing teacher.

One thing that I will definitely remember, is the Watson Winners wall of quotes. That has so many memories written down, that I will definitely never forget.

Another thing I will never forget is sharing churning brains. I love churning brains, and I think it is a great opportunity to share our writing tallet.

I know that I am going to miss Ox Ridge so much, but I will leave knowing that it was a time well spent, and these are six years I will never forget.

    ~Paulina

  24. Spencer-
I think we all agree that your response is funny, yet well written at the same time. You used your creative writing skills to help the reader picture the moments/memories perfectly.
I like how you started your response. “Hello and Goodbye- Just like everyone this will be my last response of my Ox Ridge career so I am going to make it the best I can.”
Also, your memories were very funny, I couldn’t stop laughing!
Great job, and keep up the good work.
    ~Kelsey

  25. Cate-
You covered a lot of things over the years at Ox Ridge! Even though I wasn’t in Ms. Sproch’s class, I could picture everything you explained. I even remember the third grade “FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE”, and all of the people that made it fun, and an amazing memory for both of us.
I know that this was in my response, but we still talk about the cowgirls all the time, and I bet it will be like that forever. You really covered special memories, and you also covered how important a memory is.
I loved your response, and you used your writing skills very well. 🍦🍩🍰🍪🍫🍨🍧 Your memories were SWEET!!
    ~Kelsey

  26. Hi Guys!
I will miss so many things about Ox Ridge when I go to sixth grade. It would take me hours and hours to explain how many amazing people work at Ox Ridge, and go to school here, so I will explain a few people that have made an impact on me since kindergarten.
First, I am going to talk about Mrs. Henry, my kindergarten teacher.(She had the most cute plastic little bears for us to play with!) Ever since I saw her sunshine sign above her door, I knew these six years would be very bright for me. And they were. From Mrs. Henry to Mrs. Watson all of my teachers have taught me so much. They were able to give me the moments when the light bulb goes off in your head, and you feel so good that you finally know that one thing that was stopping you.
Mike, our janitor not only works hard for our school, but is so funny, and almost is like a friend to me.
The last people I want to talk about is all of the friends I’ve made over these years: Phoebe, Paulina, Cate, Hope, Brooke, Caitlin, Grace, Anoushka, Sachi, Grace, Holland, and so, so many more. These people inspire me in so many ways, and our friendships will always stay strong.
Now, I am going to explain only some of my favorite memories I’ve made these years at Ox Ridge.
One memory is the time in second grade when we made the Darien projects. The assignment was to find out about one place in Darien. Mine was the Darien Times. I got to meet one of the writers, and interview her! It was so fun, and it was the first real project I ever did at Ox Ridge.
Also, the time when we did the Songwriters Hall Of Fame! I loved narrowing my research down to one song. I also enjoyed hearing other peoples styles of music.
And the last memory I am going to talk about is the time in second grade, in Mrs. McGettigan’s class: Cate, Beatrice and I were drawing on the white board. We were drawing a barn with a bunch of animals, and cowgirls. Cate still has pictures of the drawings, and they were actually really good!
One thing I learned over all of these years at Ox Ridge is to never give up. I worked so hard in every class to get that light bulb moment, and with help from my teachers, I made it happen. I will miss Ox Ridge so much, and there will always be special memories I can’t forget.
    ~Kelsey

    • Kelsey-
I like how you gave a lot of really meaningful memories instead of me (who only gave three) and they were all described really well. I like how you gave memories from the past and now because it showed how many good memories you probably had in between kindergarten and fifth grade. I could tell you had a great time at Ox Ridge because of how much you wrote. Nice response!

    • Kelsey,
I really like your response! I like how you had so many memories and how you told of all the people and things that you will miss when you go to middle school.
      -Anoushka/Mango-

  27. My INCREDIBLE six years at Ox Ridge have been filled to the brim with amazing memories from friends, teachers, and supporters. Considering this is my last piece of homework at Ox Ridge in Mrs. Watsons class I will try to make it as amazing as my memories.
First I will begin in Ms. Sproch’s fourth grade class where many of memories were made. My class was Ava Arledge, Paulina Almy, William Barber, Alexia Buchesky, Nathan Camporeale, Arthur Cummins, Zachary Guo, Hope Happgood, Sam Leff, Max Mansourian, Sachi Mehta, Carley Miller, Ryan Peck, Will Pullen, Grace Riva, Charlie Sedlock, Elise Shulman, Holland Whitacre, and Me. The first memory was when we were about to begin math. When Ms. Sproch said, It is my best friend’s birthday let’s sing Taylor Swift’s 22 but switch it to 32! We all began to sing knowing that we were being recorded and would later be texted to the birthday girl.
The next memory was also in Ms. Sproch’s class, this was field day 2017. Our class walked out of the classroom, all in out crazy colored getups. Once we got to the field we began to scream, “WE WILL, WE WILL, SPROCH YOU! SPROCH YOU!” We repeated this many times until we had to line up to play.
The next memory was in third grade, Mrs. Battersby’s class. It was almost the end of the year and my whole class was sitting on the spider web. We could all barely fit. We called it the “FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE!” Our class, lead by Wyatt Stauffer pretend to talk about nail polish, clothes and makeup. When our teacher called us up to go inside we couldn’t stop laughing. We giggled our way through the doors to the classroom.
My time at Ox Ridge has been a crazy, yet incredible ride with up’s and down’s twist’s and turn’s. I have been so lucky to have so many awesome teachers throught the years! I will never forget any of the memorys I made here.

  28. Hello and Goodbye-
Just like everyone this will be my last response of my Ox Ridge career so I am going to make it the best I can. The six whole years that I have spent at Ox Ridge have been filled with memories and amazing things. From my first time meeting Judy on the first day of school in kindergarten when she yelled at my Dad for trying to help me order lunch, to the final days of fifth grade full of “inspirational” quotes, #guccithriftshop and finally to all the amazing teachers (emphasize on Mrs. F). Here are some amazing memories I’ve had at Ox Ridge.

Of course I have to elaborate on my first time meeting Judy. My parents got to come to my first lunch at Ox Ridge and my Dad only wanted to help me order my first lunch but Judy yelled at him and said “He needs to learn how to order by himself!!” Obviously I would’ve learned how to do it in 6 years anyway but I understand her point of view that she was only trying to make sure I didn’t get bullied for not knowing how to order my own lunch.

Another great memory I had at Ox Ridge was finding the Mrs. Mittelstadt squad in first grade. This is like a whole-year memory but it was my first true group of friends. It consisted of Zachary, Logan, Me and Will P. Unfortunately Will has moved to a different school so we still have him in our group but in our school group we replaced him with Ryan. Of course this group doesn’t exist anymore because I’m pretty much friends with all the boys in our class. I will still never forget my first group even though it has been expanded to many other people other than the o.g. squad members.

My last but definitely not least memory is pretty much this entire year. This is neck-and-neck with my third grade year with is equally amazing. From the Gucci Thrift Shop to the quotes and finally the projects. I give Mrs. Watson cheers for making the year the most fun possible with her great personality and positive thinking always. Thank you and all the teachers for working hard to make these 6 years the most exciting ones of my life. I hope you enjoyed my final response I will ever take at Ox Ridge School.

    • So glad your experiences at Oxridge were so great😀They’ve prepared you for success at Middlesex and beyond! Good luck to you Shesher👍😘

  29. Hello!
This is my last response so it NEEDS to be a good one! I am going to miss Ox Ridge, and all the teachers in it. But I would like to give special thanks to all my grade teachers, and all the people who have helped me become the person I am now. I am definitely going to miss all the faculty here, and all my younger kindergarten and 1st, and 2nd grade friends.

I will never EVER forget walking into Ox Ridge for the first time. getting to meet all the teachers here! I will never forget our field trips, and countless hours of playing “My little pony” in Dr.Trifiatas’s class, (Kindergarten). I will never forget, playing “Squinkies” will Lilly Foster in 1st grade. And learning all about the Ox Ridge Hunt Club with Mrs.McGettigan . Especially never to forget Mrs.Batersby’s homework menu, and Mrs.Sapienza’s “terrifying” closet! And by far never forgetting Mrs.Watson for making my 5th grade year like a shining star!

Thank you all so much for an AMAZING 6 years here at Ox Ridge!
    ~ Phoebe Bryan

    • Phoebe-
I like how you stated memories from every year at Ox Ridge instead of just a couple. It was very well written and you said how you would miss everyone. These memories look really cool and I wish you had elaborated a little bit more on them but overall a great last response.

  30. I have so many things that I will miss from Ox Ridge one of them is not having to switch classes every 45 minutes and how fast you can get around I will also miss all of the teachers that have taught me because they have all have a huge impact on my life and they have all helped me get to middle school. I will definitely come back and visit sometimes. I will also miss some of the light homework next year I think it will be a huge challenge but I will get used to it and goodbye Ox Ridge.

    -Finley

  31. I love how you can get around the school so fast at Ox Ridge. I love how we have leadership league. I like all the fun activates we do. I will miss all the teachers.
I have been at Ox Ridge for 5 7/8 years, and I love it. Even when my little brother is at Holmes.

  32. Everything has to come to a close, like it or not. Even though I don’t want it to this school year is coming to a close. 😭😭😭 I have loved all my teachers and their ways of teaching will influence me for my whole life. They have been guiding us throughout our 6 year career. I will hate parting with them, and this memory is just that.
It all started on the last day of school in first grade. My friend Thomas Whidden was missing for a couple of minutes. “Maybe he is going to the bathroom,” I thought. Mrs. Mittelstadt came over to me and whispered to me,” can you help me? Thomas locked himself in the stall of the boys bathroom.”
“I guess,” I answered. I upped and left, and beelined straight for the bathroom. As I entered the bathroom I called out,”Thomas, you in here.” There was crying coming from the first stall. I waited outside of it for a few minutes before speaking. “ Hey Thomas do you want to come back to class?”
“No, I don’t want to,” Thomas replied,” I’m never going to see Mrs. M ever again!” He started going back to sitting in the stall and being silent.
It took me 15-30 minutes to finally get Thomas back into class. He agreed to come out, because I told him,”You’ll be able to see her next year, like in the halls or at the end of the day.”
That was probably my longest time I was in the bathroom, and best story to tell to him when he’s feeling down or we just feel like sharing funny stories in the lunchroom. We were in there for a good 15 minutes before he came out!
GOODBYE WATSON WINNERS you all have won this year and made it one of my favorite years at Ox Ridge, I couldn’t have hoped for a better class. Even though we got out of hand sometimes, it calmed down towards the middle of the year. Hopefully everyone had just as a good of a year as I did, and wish you the best wishes in middle school. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

  33. I have been a Ox Ridge member all of my life and it has taught me very well. People say that elementary school is just a warm up for middle school, high school, and college, but it’s not because it makes you a better person throughout your life and especially Ox Ridge because they have codes to be a better person and don’t be the person that wrecks everything except if it’s a bad thing. My first year of elementary school I thought it would be amazing and everything would be perfect but school is to learn not to just have fun all of the time and I have to even admit that this year has been a little shaky because I get dragged into things that I don’t want to but I do and I know that.

Ox Ridge will be a gigantic help for me in my later years at different schools because people around me show me what I need to better and what I need to keep doing and that will teach me what to do when I’m in a bad situation with nobody to help me. Even though Ox Ridge has some strict rules they’re good to learn because the teachers in college aren’t going to want you running crazy all over the campus smacking everybody’s books out of their hands.

One of my favorite memory’s is in Kindergarten I thought that I would have the meanest teacher of all time because I was used to having teachers help us and pass out snack and apple juice and my mom said that I was going to be in a new school with big boys which scared me because I thought they would bully me. So I walked into my classroom scared as heck and my teacher already knew my name so then I became excited for the rest of my Ox Ridge career and I still am.

    • I agree with you saying,”People say that elementary school is just a warm up for middle school, high school, and college, but it’s not because it makes you a better person throughout your life and especially Ox Ridge because they have codes to be a better person and don’t be the person that wrecks everything except if it’s a bad thing.”

  34. I have loved Ox Ridge ever since I walked in those doors on my first day of 3rd grade! I have made so many friends and memories here at Ox Ridge and leaving this place is going to break my heart! Luckily I have had AWESOME teachers to help prepare me and teach me so much! I am so lucky to be so prepared! Though I am excited for middle school I will never forget Ox Ridge and the memories I have had here!

One memory that is impossible to forget is our 3rd grade field trip to The Dump. This day was Ms. Humphrey’s first full day with us and it happened to be a field trip. This day started normally but it quickly took a turn for the worst… but wait does this story have a happy ending?

“It is now 9:15, 3rd grade may head up to the pick up area to get on the busses.” Dr. Forshaws voice boomed out of the PA. As we started walking up to front of the building I got really hot. It was a HOT day and the sun shown through the windows and I got hotter. The sun was slowly inching forward and my jeans and wool sweater were not helping. We got there in 10 minutes and were out and situated in about 7. The acres reeked like skunk and I dragged my practically flaming body along with me. We saw the dump and the recycling station and by now, the whole group was wincing. But we turned the corner and there was a burnt house with fire trucks and totaled cars! We all thought the place was so cool! When we found out that the firemen would light the house on fire and go in it, we were astonished!

I guess my lesson really is that something good is always around the corner!

  35.     Hey guys!
We all have many amazing and hilarious memories at Ox Ridge, or on field trips! Here is one of my funniest Ox Ridge memories. In third grade, we were in gym in the game where competitors would swing on a rope and lad on a pad. It was a boys v. girls round, so stakes were high as it was a very close game, with the boys having a one person lead.I was the last one to swing across the “dangerous river” and I ignored sitting on the knot to swing across, which was required. I confidently swung across and my leg was caught by my fellow boy teammates. They were trying to pull me off, but the knot was stuck in spot, uh, how do I explain this? Let’s just say a spot I didn’t want it to be. In pain, I pulled back the rope swung back, I fell off and I lost it for the boys. Although it was a very painful few seconds, I can’t and couldn’t help laughing at the thought.
Thank you to you guys and all the teachers I had for making my Ox Ridge experience it could have been. Good year guys!

  36. Hi WW. I think I’m ‘going to agree with Ayla about the LLL ( lively ladies lunch). I will miss Mrs. Watson’s stories about her life and I will also miss our early times at LLL, getting on top of the desks and posing as the guys walked in.

When I leave to go home in the afternoon and come back in the mornings there was always was a new drawing on the whiteboard. I will not forget each drawing mysteriously there. Each one, VERY ORIGINAL. There are the ones that make you look twice, and the ones that stare at you all day long.

I will miss every single boy calling me “Leta” every single moment they can. I will never forget that tiny detail of fifth grade ☺😊😀😂😄😅I will have a hard time saying goodbye to every one of my classmates and teachers.
    -”Leta” (Scarlett)
    😍😎😶😋😝😗😏💚💛💋😆😓😬😖😢😠💞💗💖😀♥❤☺😊😀😁😂😄😅😆😉

    • I hadn’t realized the drawings were going to be another one of the many thing I would miss, along with you. I doubt the middle school teachers are going to let the one slip. I also agree with you on LLL and I think it brought us closer. Great job!

  37. Being at Ox Ridge has been one of the best times of my life. I have great memories, and things that I don’t know how I will go without. Teachers and friends have made my time at Ox Ridge even better.
Some of the things I will definitely miss are recess, model citizen time, free write, reading our own choice of books, read aloud, dodge ball, sit, Lively ladies lunch, Mrs.Watson´s great sense of humor, and every teacher I have had. There so many more things I will miss, but that is it simplified. All of these things have made my time at Ox Ridge very enjoyable, and when I leave, I will always remember those things.
The things I love about Ox Ridge is that everyone is very friendly, and I can always find someone to talk to. You never have one same day. Everyday you learn something new, in class, or even something about your friends. Ox Ridge has changed my life for the better, and I don’t know what I will do next year, leaving behind all these amazing things.

  38. There are so many things that I will miss and that love about Ox Ridge! One of the things I will certainly miss about Ox Ridge is all of the teachers i’ve had, especially Mrs.Watson. I love a lot of things about Ox Ridge but the main thing I will miss about Ox Ridge is all of my friends and classmates. Next year, a lot of us will be going to Middlesex Middle School. But some of us will be going to other schools or some of us might not be in the same color in middle school. I will miss how you won’t see everyone at recess or how we might not have lunch at the same time.
Another thing I will miss about Ox Ridge is the girl’s, Lively Ladies Lunches and Mrs. Watson’s funny stories. My favorite story that Mrs. Watson told us is the one when her class a couple years ago. When her class was going to Hartford and everything that could go wrong basically went wrong. I will never forget the six years I spent at Ox Ridge!

    • I totally agree with you on your favorite M.W.S. (Mrs. Watson Story). It must have been terrible then, but now we can laugh about it. I also hope I get to eat lunch with you next year, because you know how much I LOVE your ramen. Great job!

  39. There are so many Ox Ridge memories that I could share, And I would love to share all the memory that I have have had in the short time that I have been here.
One of my favorite Ox ridge memories was last year in 4th grade when I was in Mrs. Sapienza’s class, and we were playing a game in PE, I forgot what it was called but The main point of the game was to get over the water without falling in the water and alligators eating you, I think that it might have been called alligator alley, and so when Tomas Widden when on the rope to gross the alley, Gavin Garrison tried to pull him onto the dock, and I helped him with it, but we pulled in the wrong place and to instead of him getting to the dock, His pants went there, and we realized that we had pulled Thomas’s, pant off.
There was a 1 second pause of silence and then every broke out into laughter and Thomas himself had a red face while laughing to hard. We continued laughing for like 5 minutes, and surprisingly Mr. Bartol was laughing to.
That was one of my favorite and most memorable memory that I will ever have in ox ridge, and so I think that this school has taught me how to behave a lot more and to not talk out in the middle of when a teacher is giving direction. I will leave ox ridge having a GREAT MEMORY!!

  40. Ox Ridge has been the best school I have ever went to so many memories I made it is hard to choose just one. Because that is the assignment I would nominate the 5th grade field trip to Hartford visiting the Mark Twain house. I find it unbelievable that they preserved it since 1874 right when you walk in you feel the vibe that this place has been here for awhile (be careful).

Every room you walked in it feels as if you went back in time to Mark Twain´s house. My personal favorite part of the tour is when we got to stand in the birth place of the best books in the world (Huckleberry Fin, Adventures Of Tom Sawyer, e.t.c). I hope when I am older and know a lot more about Mark Twain I can revisit the site and look at things that I did not know about before.

I hope all of you Watson´s Winners loved this field trip as much as I did. Peace out DENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  41. Hello my fellow Watson winners! This is yours truly Dean Richards. I am here to remember the days either we did something cool or we really I mean really messed up or something along those lines. Sue it up s memory. I think most people will remember this the combs that we got for picture day. Remember? Well, if you don’t you would get combs so then you can comb your hair to make you look good for the picture.
But I think it is worth remembering because kids ( us Younger )
Would keep the combs and just wip it out during class and start to comb your hair. It was the weirdest thing because we knew that we were not allowed to have them at all and you were really supposed through them out after you take the picture, but nope nada. Kids keep them and brought them home or keep them in your desk and maybe it taken away from you.

    • It was so hilarious just like 50 kids whip out the combs and just randomly out of nowhere. Some kids eve took two! It was probably the funniest thing until your teacher said stop and made you “throw them away”. Still nope!

  42. I have had such an amazing time through my years at Ox Ridge. I made some great memories that are unforgettable and will walk with me through my later year in education. Ox RIdge has so many inviting and inspirational teachers and staff members that help us grow through our six years. I have learned so much at Ox Ridge, witch I know will help me at middle school and also at high school and so on. I have met so many incredible friends that I will remember for the rest of my life.
One memory I have is in for the grade with Mrs. Freid as my teacher. AT the end of the day around 3:10 we would pack up and get ready to go home, almost have a small 5 minute free time. This really showed me that we could do a lot of work but still have fun. Also it taught me that our teachers aren’t always all work. Mrs. Fried would play with us and laugh and tell stories with us.
Another time in Kindergarten, with Mrs. Trifiatis, I remember that we were playing owner and pet. And we made these leashes out of plastic chains, Mrs Trifiatis and Mrs. Sprague had. I remember Ayla pulling my leash through the classroom.
Ox Ridge has been such a wonderful experience for me. I learned so much. And grew as a learner and as a person. This school taught me not only, how to read, write, solve problem in math na dean/reflect on american History and science, but it also taught me so many life lessons I will never forget! I am so grateful that I got to go to school at such an amazing school like Ox RIdge, I’m really going to miss all the people and fun things we do!!

  43. So many memories to choose from but One of my favorite memories was in the fourth grade when we went on a field trip to Hartford. My mother was a chaperone and we were going to the Connecticut Science Center. The museum was really cool and fun. On the way there we had amazing coach buss. One thing I remember there was a amazing space Capsule and we tried to land on the moon (not really) but it was super cool. I also loved the elevators. I am not sure why – maybe it was that you could see through the glass window. There was also this 3-D dance floor that took a picture of us goofing around, jumping and dancing. I just loved how interactive it was. And i also liked that my mom got to go!

This was the best field trip!!

  44. The thing I will miss at Ox ridge like a lot of other people said is the teachers. There caring they help you up if there is a problem and care for you. That was for every single teacher I had I hope that will be the same for middle school.

  45. Well I haven’t been at Ox ridge as long as any of you but what I will miss most about this school is its weirdness, at Hindley we didn’t have anything like Mrs. Watson pigs, we just had school and barely any extra recess but here we have practically two extra recesses every week. Hindley and Ox ridge are both fascinating places in their own ways and both of them have great teachers for learning, the difference though is the craziness Ox ridge inhabits, and like Jonathan said each teacher has something that represents them and at Hindley there is no such thing according to my memory. While I like both schools Ox ridge is going to be a favorite future memory that I will always remember.

  46. Matthew, I remember the Kennedy campfire! Actually, I sort of remember it, what I remember most is when I got into trouble for sneaking through the woods to steal the other campfires wood. We had this huge fake battle (which the Kennedy campfire won mind you) but it was a lot of fun

  47. I agree with you Jonathan. I am going to miss all of the special perks about each of my teachers. Mrs. Watsons pigs, Mrs. Weins quotes, Mrs. Newkirks stories. They have all affected me and it wouldn’t be the same without them.

  48. Hi!
I think that the thing that I am going to miss the most about Ox Ridge is Mrs. Rongoe’s frogs, And even more important, Mrs. Watson’s PIGS!!!!! All of the teachers that I have had at Ox Ridge, have always had something that said something about themselves, but also reminded me about them every time I stepped under the roof of good ole’ Ox Ridge for the first day of every new grade, but sadly, That Is not going to happen again, but it will be happening at the big, scary, MMS. I will miss Ox Ridge so much that I want to cry. 🙂
    Thanks!

    • Johnathan you did really great with your memory I mean when I read that last line I felt really sad all of a sudden but I think you over exaggerated Middle school IT IS NOT THAT SCARY!!!

  49. If I had to choose something that I miss most about this school it would probably be the teachers. All of the teachers here are super nice and very understanding. If you have a problem and you talk to them about it overall they will help you overcome your problem and learn a lesson from it. I will miss all of the teachers at ox ridge because they would always help me and teach me. I am going to have a lot of fun at middle school but I will miss Ox Ridge too. All of the teachers have been really helpful. Thank you guys so much!!!!!

  50. Cat,

I loved what you wrote about. Remy has the best personality! But I understand that you were clueless and was nervous to meet/see new people. But with moving to a different school, those emotions are very common.

    Amazing Job Cat!

  51. Matthew K,

That was one of my highlights of 4th grade so fun! And that “battle” we got into with the other campfire! I definitely would see why you would write about it here. A lot of fun! i also liked all the detail you put in describing it.

    Good job!

  52. Hello!

I know that everyone has been saying this but I’m going to say it to. I’m going to miss the teachers at Ox Ridge so much! All the teachers I’ve had through kindergarten- 5th Grade have been so amazing and fun. I’ll definitely miss them very much.

Every teacher that I’ve had has been very loyal, respectful, fun, generous and very helpful. I have grown in my education and my personality all because of these teachers. That’s what I’ll miss about Ox Ridge.

    Goodbye!

  53. HOLA,
As I have so many memories I had to only pick one here it is. I loved our recess that we will soon not have sadly. But in 4th grade we invented the Kennedy Campfire. This was a activity were all of our friends built a campfire. We collected sticks and built a teepee. One of the best things was our stick, everyone signed it. Everyone that helped with the campfire in any way signed it.

One more great thing about this campfire was that we sang songs. The funny thing about this is that they were kinda stupid songs. One song was ” I am stuck on bandaid brand cause bandaid stuck on me.” Another is ” This is the campfire song this is the campfire song ( song never ends, keeps repeating).” So these was one of my favorite Ox Ridge memories.

    #READEVENMORE

    • Now Matthew that is quite the memory you have but where was this activity placed, in recess and if so Weren’t there any problems with the aids restricting you from doing this kinda stuff????

  54. Cat, Audrey, and Ryan,

I am definitely going to miss all of the special teachers here at Ox Ridge too! I loved all the etchers I had since kindergarten till now. With Mrs.Trifiatas in kindergarten, Mrs.Fisher in first grade, Mrs. Frawley in second grade, Mrs. Collins in third grade, Mrs.Wein in fourth grade, and finally Mrs.Watson in fifth grade which is the present right now.

If you are reading this Mrs.Watson,
Thank you so much for everything you have taught me in 5th race!I actually would like to thank you for all the projects and homework you give us because it has really prepared me for Middle school! I am really glad and happy I got u as a 5th grade teacher!
    Thannk you for everything!

  55. Audrey and Ryan,

I am definitely going to miss the teachers at Ox Ridge too! Even though I was only at Ox Ridge for 2 years, I have grown to love the teachers (and Ox Ridge) so much! I think we all are going to miss Mrs. Watson.

If you are reading this Mrs. Watson,
Thank you so much for teaching me in 5th grade! I think you prepared the Watson winners so much more then the other classes. I can’t wait to see Theo having Homework for once and I actually saying, “Now you know how I felt last year!”
    Thank you for Everything!

  56. You know that your in Ox Ridge when teachers stop at the WORST place to stop/more suspensefuln place to stop. Example:
Mrs.Watson: My Bro Sam, stopped before Sam’s execution.
Ms.Sproch: Land Of Stories, stopped before Alex an Connor were going to escape from the goblins.
Mrs.Newkirk:(Forgot name), Stopped before the bis tsunami hit.
Mrs.McGettigan:Poppelton, stopped before Poppelton went into shark infested waters on a raft.
(Sorry its short Brain kinda cloudy and talking a lot) JK.

  57. Hey Ryan,
I can totally agree with you about missing all the teachers. This is a huge disappointment about leaving Ox Ridge. You did a great job explaining why you are going to miss the teachers. THey have done so many great things for us, and now we will not be able to see them in the halls or classes. Also, all the work the did to get us to Middle School, and how you said you have improved on Math. Well that’s a wrap great job Ryan.
    #teachers

  58. One of my favorite things about Ox Ridge is that the work is so easy. Kindergarten was 2+2, 1st grade was 2×2, 2nd grade was 2/2, 3rd grade was also 2/2, 4th grade was 2%, and 5th grade is 2 to the 2nd power.
One of my favorite memories from Ox Ridge was last year, on Halloween. Ms. Sproch, Rongoe, and Wein were all cups of coffee. Right before recess, I said to ms. Sproch, “Wow. you are one hot cup of coffee!” The class burst into laughter, and fortunately, so did ms. Sproch. I had a bad feeling she’d take it the wrong way.
My last memory is how in 4th grade, me, Sam, Davis, and Jimmy all would talk to much on the carpet, so ms. Sproch had to somehow separate us. So she put 1 of us in every corner of the carpet, and that later became known as “The 4 Corners”.
She made us sit like that everyday, and if we tried to not sit in “The 4 Corners” then ms. Sproch would say 2 words to demand us too. Those words are “4 Corners”. I remember all 4 of us would always want the 2 back corners because all the girls were in the front and the boys in the back. From there on, our group of 4 became known as “The 4 Corners”.
Another thing I remember is that at random times a timer would go off in our minds and someone would chant “Lukaaaayyyyy,” then “Samaaaaayyyy,” then “Jimaaaaayyyyyy,” and lastly “Davisaaaaayyyyy!”

  59. Auuuuu, Kitty!

Another memorable [memory] is our Halloween Party from 4th Grade. There were donuts on strings, and to earn them, you had to try to fish ’em off! My group had C.C., Austin, Olivia, and Matthew S. When Mrs. Rongoe started to twist the strings, I knew this would be a challenge.
“On your mark, get set, bananas!” Mrs. Rongoe exclaimed. And when all of us turn to look at her with questioning faces, she suddenly started jumping up and down and yelling “GO!” I don’t remember who won, but I was pretty sure every one of us knocked ours on the floor. 😉

  60. Hi!

One of my favorite memories at Ox Ridge was on the first day on the bus. Amanda had told me that her and a friend named REMY (Remsters) had made up a funny joke and rode on my bus, bus 18. On the first day, I was looking for a girl that could be rely but I was clueless. When Amanda introduced me to Remy I thought to myself, Oh my Gosh! Thats Remy!, Since I saw her on the bus. Rem and I have become really close friends since that day.

    Bye!!! 🙂 😉 🙂

p.s. If you look at the smiley faces one is different!

  61. I remember when almost a year from now we were eating donuts in the chorus room and I got the donut I wanted. Since I am pretty vengeful, if someone stole that donut from the box I brought, I would be mad. I like getting what I want,(selfish much?) but it’s okay that it could happen.

  62. Hello Watson Winners,
Today I have chosen to talk about teacher I REALLY going to miss, you guessed it MRS.WATSON. ONe reason I really am going to miss her is how much she has helped me out with math. Math was a huge struggle for me and I have gotten a LOT better at. Another thing I like to thank Mrs.Watson for is how she is getting me ready for 6th grade. Thank you for all those quizzes, projects, assignments, and so much more. I am feeling really confident walking in the Middle School. My gut is telling me that I am going to make it through Middle School. Thank to all my other teachers for getting me to who I am right now. Special thanks to Mrs.Morash, Ms.Blake(Mrs.Fisher), Mrs.Collins, Mrs.Giannattasio, Miss.Sproch, and they amazing Mrs.Watson. Thank you all for so much.
    #teachers

  63. Okay, so do you know that game where you set up the “zip metal” in the middle, and then you try to hit to your opponents side? Well me (Kalev) and Matthew Seale created it. It all happened when…
I put the metal thing in the middle and started swinging on the end, trying to latch my feet around it, but I kept messing up, and Matthew comes and tries to do it, and almost gets it, but instead pushes it to other side. Then I say, “I have an idea. Put it in the middle, and then we use our feet to try to get it to the other person’s side, whoever gets it first, wins.” So we started the game, and he wins 75% of the time, but it’s still fun.

    Anyways, yeah.

  64. Hi Watson’s Winners!
I loved Ox Ridge so much and don’t want to leave. One of the biggest reasons why is because I will miss my teachers. They have all helped me become who I am today. If I was having trouble with a math problem they wouldn’t hesitate to come help me. Now that I am graduating Ox Ridge I remember in the beginning of kindergarden I couldn’t even read. Now I am practically finished with Ox Ridge and it is crazy how much I proggresed. The teachers that really helped me were………. Mrs. Byrn, Mrs. Mittlestat, Miss Frawly, Mrs. Collins, Miss Sproch and last but definitly not least Mrs. Watson. Thank you all so much.

  65. Hi,
Something I will miss about Ox Ridge is the teachers. They have guided my way to were I am now and my future. Thank you to you teachers and hope I will enjoy the teachers of my future!

  66. One of my Ox Ridge memories is the time when the third grade went to the dump. All we did there was throw away garbage and walk around. I also had multiple memories on the bus when I changed buses to bus 4. On bus 4, me, Drew, Sam, Austin, and sometimes Trevor would make very funny jokes and it was definitely better than when I was on bus 23.

  67. Hi everyoneI

I have so many memories of OX Ridge. A lot of great memories actually. But there is one funny one that I will share with you. Now let’s get to it!
It was mystery reader day in Miss Dineen’s 1st grade classroom. At the end of the day, the reader knocked. We all turned our heads to see who’s mom it was. But as she opened the door, everyone just stared. Who was it? She walked in with a bleach blonde wig and sunglasses and said “Hi Everyone !!” in a loud voice. We all kind of looked at her and were confused. She sat down and said “Okay kids…who am I? silence. And then she said, “I am Alex’s mom!” Alex Patricelli looked at her and said, “no you are not”. and then she took off her dark sunglasses and looked right at me. It was my mom!!

Well, that’s my funny memory. I hope you liked it!

  68. Well one of my Ox Ridge memories is the time where,in Spanish, we had Mrs. Tusa and she played Billy La Bufunda, it was interesting because everyone was singing with the song and the song itself was funny(also including the 2nd Billy La Bufunda)
Another one of my memories of Ox Ridge is, don’t know the name but on the back playground where the kids kick the metal thing, it’s really interesting to watch, especially when one of the kids win.
My final memory of Ox Ridge was my first day at Ox Ridge.
I just woke up and put my clothes on walking toward my kitchen nervous in every single part of my body. So I got ready for school, finished my breakfast, and was waiting for the bus and to pass some time I shot baskets in my neighbor’s driveway. I see the bus, is the bus driver strict or soft, nice or mean, I have to find out, and turns out she’s nice but I went to the back of the bus and kept to myself. I mean I’ve been to Ox Ridge before so I did partially know how to get around but didn’t trust myself so I followed the kids to the back playground. I wandered for a bit but then I heard a whistle and I went inside the school. When I was in my classroom I was as nervous as an angry bull when it sees red. It was a good memory and one I will keep forever

  69. Halo
One of my favorite ox ridge memories was in 4th grade

We were on a field trip at the CT science center in Hartford. I had just got into line for the hurricane simulator, thinking that it would be the most awesome thing that I had ever experienced in my life.

I got into the little tube, they turned it on, And it was nothing like I thought. But when I say that, you probably think it’s because it was amazing. But no. I was really soft, and the wind was barely even increasing, But the fun of it was that me and my friends were making it look it was a real hurricane for the other people outside waiting. We practically actually HAD been hit by a hurricane because of the way all of these things made us look.

This had really been fun, It may have not been very intense, but we made it fun.

  70. One of my memories is when we were doing the garden at the end of the year and we were all weeding and setting out the fertilizer-soil, and turning up the old dirt. Then one of the grown-ups found something that looked like a carrot, and then we went trying to get it out, but only the top half came out of the ground, and I then took it home, but everybody kept asking what I had in my hand.

Another one was when our class was with our buddies, and we were making houses out of beads and popsicle sticks and paper, but I couldn’t figure out which one was my buddy, because she had gotten a new hair cut, but I found her (Sadie), and then we made a nice and simple cottage with blue windows, and a red door, and a rock path, and a pink flag saying SADIE LAND, and when we were done we put it away, and then we went and read a couple of “Elephant and Piggie” books.

My last one was when I had been rejected from on of the tag games, and I don’t like football, or the other game of tag. So I went to the only other game–pokemon. I went over to Ryan and Lucas, and Lucas gave me his duplicates, and after those first 26 cards, I quickly gained a good collection.

    Aaaaaah. Good times.

  71. Hi!

I have so many Ox Ridge memories even though I was only at Ox Ridge for 2 years. One of them was in fourth grade when I was in Mrs. Rongoe’s classroom.

It was a gorgeous day outside and all of the girls who were in Mrs. Rongoe’s classroom were getting ready in the girls bathroom. I was putting on my face paint while Katherine was letting girls borrow her hairspray. Katherine brought in 2 bottles of hairspray. While I was looking at myself in the mirror putting on my face paint, I heard one big long SQUIRT!!! Then I turned around to see what happened. A girl (I think was Anna) was standing in front Katherine with blue hair. But on the wall was a big spot of blue! Everyone in theorem started laughing. “Hopefully no one will notice,” Katherine said. —-Girls, Have you ever noticed how in one of the bathrooms there is a line of blue paint? Well I think it is because of the hairspray!

I have another memory from this year.

Our buddy class, Mrs. Eagans class, Was outside and we got to hang out with our buddies. Most of the girls and their buddy played kickball. It was so funny because they think they are so good! Amanda and I taught our buddies,
(Amanda-Tiago, Me-Sean), to dab. It was the funniest thing ever!

  72. Hola,
I know we all have a ton of Ox Ridge memory’s but here is one of my favorite. In 3rd grade the day arrived April Fools Day. Me and James ( my twin brother) were going to switch classes. When we were at lunch one of the teachers said ” we could only switch for lunch.” She knew we were switching because she saw us doing it. Well after lunch we were still in opposite classes. Then when Mrs. Goldstein ( old assistant principal) walked passed us every one was giggling. Then she said ” what is going on!” No one awnsered then when she passed and we were about to go back in to the room I heard they were doing read aloud. So me and my brother switched back to our classes. Hope you enjoyed my memory.

  73. Hello!

Of course I have so many memories about Ox Ridge! But when Mrs Watson said we have to respond about something that was special moment that we had at our years at ox Ridge this one just popped into mind.

In fourth grade in Mrs Sproch’s class, it was the day of field day. We were walking up to the front playground and everyone just started screaming “We will, we will Sproch you!” The tune of “We Will Rock You.” And the rest of classes tried to add their class name into the song like ours but none of them rhymed. (Our’s was the best)

That was my favorite Ox Ridge memory!

  74. Jillian,
I remember that! It was always like “So today- RIP -we will -RIP- be working -RIP- can we please stop ripping the shoes. Back then a lot people had Velcro shoes, so it was really crazy!

  75. I have a lot of memories from Ox Ridge, but one I really like is trying to eat donuts off strings in Mrs. Rongoe’s class as fast as we could. Another one is when Miss. Sproch’s class started chanting “We will, we will Sproch you, Sproch you”. So us in Mrs. Rongoe’s class started chanting “You are, you are Rong-O, Rong-O. That was an amazing year!

  76. I remember being soon nervous about school and how people would treat me. I was really scared and thought people would treat me in the most terrible way possible. I was sweating on the way to my new school in the car.(Literally) My mom measured me but as soon as I left the house I was scared again. Later that day, I got a new friend and I was happy. So you should listen to your mothers.

  77. Hi!!!

One of my memories was being a complete and total GOODY-TWO-SHOES (up until now). One of the clearest memories was in Ms.Sproch’s class. Hear it is. Luke, picked up a pencil off the ground and being the old me, sitting next to him I said very loudly so the teacher (Ms.Sproch) would hear “LUKE REMEMBER WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO TAKE PENCILS OFF THE GROUND”. And of course’ Luke had to go to the “Rainbow Table” to talk with Ms.Sproch about “Respecting others personal property” as I had that goody-two-shoes grinn on my face.

I now probably none of you believe me but ask Luke. Sam Sealy, or Davis and they will all probably say “Drew was a total goody-two-shoes”

  78. Hi,
One of my favorite Ox Ridge memories was last year. Sam Sealy, Jimmy Culliton, and I were doing our everyday routine before recess. That routine was to knock on the farthest portable’s door, and then run. Sam or me were usually the ones to knock on the door, but Jimmy wouldn’t stay to far behind. So, one day when we did it (not knowing it’d be our last), Me and Sam both knocked. We would stay at the back of the line, making sure no one would see us. Unluckily, Avery was just getting out of the classroom when we knocked. She did what any other person would do, and as the teacher looked to find us she told her that me and Sam we the ones doing it. Notice who I never said Jimmy. He was never caught.
Anyway, looking back on it now, I feel really stupid and sorry for doing this.
This definitely was a day to remember though, and not for a good reason.
    Bye.

  79. Hey Class of 2016 Watson’s Winners!
I totally agree with Jillian ; Fourth Grade Field Day was a Field Day to never forget! Until this year…
I remember in the beginning of the fifth grade year, when Ruthie, Elizabeth, more I can’t remember (SORRY!) and I were at “Blast – Off Math.” I was REALLY hyper (no surprise), and as crazy as I was at the moment, I was un-seriously asking Ms. King if I could present the problem on her SmartBoard. She asked me what I was going to write, and I said my name. So when I obviously was blown – off, I asked Ruthie, who was sitting next to me, that if she got called on, she would write my name. And as expected, she got called on, and after presenting, she told Ms. King she was ought to add a special touch. Ms. King rolled her eyes, and looked at me. I grinned, and shrugged my shoulders as Ruthie finished writing my name with the setting set on Calligraphy.
Question : How did thy year go on its journey far before it was supposed to?

  80. Hello All Watson Winners,
Today I am going to talk about one of my favorite Ox Ridge Memories which was in fourth grade.

It all started when…….. Miss.Sproch’s class(my class) started singing “We will we will Sproch you, Sproch you. Building up spirit for field day and getting ready to show the other classes how we. Then of course Mrs.Rongoe’s class started to sing “You are, you are RONG-O”. While Mrs.Weins class was over in the corner with no chant to say. What I loved so much about it was everyone had so much spirit and was so fun. Everyone was just enjoying the hot sunny June day. I will always remember that special day and always look back on it. It will always be our little thing Mrs.Rongoe’s class and Miss.Sproch’s will remember forever.

  81. Hey Watson people,
I have a few memories that are my favorite and one of them is in fist grade I was in Mrs. Mittelstats class and our class had a problem. A shoe problem! Lots of people were obsessed with playing with there shoes when Mrs.Mittelstat was trying to talk. One time a few kids in the front of the carpet were playing with there shoes and Mrs.Mittelstat took off there shoes and through them across the room!

Another memory that I will always remember is on the last day of school someone through there shoe out the window and Mrs.M made them go outside and go get it!

Also I always love field day but last year was one of the best. Each class had a chant and I was in Mrs.Rongoes class so we would always say, “YOU ARE YOU ARE RONG-O!” I

Those were a few of my favorite memories at ox Ridge, tell me what you think about them. Were you in my class when these events happened? If so tell me ow you remember it.
    :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) :):):):):):):):)

  82. I’m not exactly sure what my favorite ox ridge memory is but I loved the Barnyard MOOsical in first grade! It was so funny and so sweet! We were so little and cute and now the difference of us now and then has really changed. Just thinking back about it makes me smile every time. I remember….

I was in Mrs.Fisher’s class (used to Mrs.Blake) and we were the pink cleaning pigs. And Mrs. Dineen’s class were the Funky chickens and they were so funny with the yellow boa around their necks and the sunglasses and just everything about them. We were at the Show and our class was up, the cleaning pigs and we stood in the front of the stage with a broom, towels and it was super funny and the best. I really do miss doing that and I wish I could replay that time again! I was smiling in my pink outfit with the pink piggy ears and my curly pink tail. It was so awesome! I LOVED THAT DAY SO MUCH in particular because we were all having fun and goofing around and I was with my friends!

    Bye Watson Winners! 🙂 🙂

  83. I have no idea what my favorite memory is but one of my favorite school spirit things is when it was Field Day and there was a lot of commotion. I was on purple team. All of my friends were excited. When mrs. Sprochs class started singing their song, we tried to come up with something I think one of them was we drink wein and you drink coke soon you will go up in smoke!!!!!! But none of them really worked out…..

It was a lot of fun. I also think that C.c. got a huge bloody nose out on the field because someone ran into her. I loved that field day particularily because I was on my friends team.

    Bye watson winners!

  84. Hi Watson’s Winners my favorite Ox Ridge momory took place in fourth grade. In fact it happened around this time of year! It all started when………………..

It was a sunny day with no clouds in sight it was a perfect day for field day. I had necklaces on with a yellow tutu along with suspenders. The clock struck 1:15 and I had a smile on my face..

My class and I made our way over to the field where we would domenate. All of a sudden all of the Sproch’s Stars broke out singing ”we will we will SPROCH you SPROCH you!” Hearing all the comotion, Mrs. Rongoe opened the her door and started singing……………… ”You are you are RONG-O!”

It went on for minutes untill we decided it was time to get up to the field.

This was my favorite memory and I will NEVER ever forget it. Bye Watson’s Winners!:)

  85. Hi
A memory I had was when I found out Jahmal would be in Mrs. Watson’s class with me. When I went to his house a few days before school started and went to his door I asked are you in Mrs. Watson’s class? No! he replied. Oh well who’s class are you in then? Mrs. Watson’s. We both started to crack up.
After that we went and played basket ball while the workers drove up and down the driveway.

  86. This is my most vivid memory from first grade. It all started when…

One day my first grade teacher, Mrs. M, announced that we would have a seat change. I looked over at my best friend Sophie Petti and we both held up our hands. Sophie and I had both fingers crossed so that maybe, just maybe we would be able to sit next to each other. As Mrs. M announced each table, except for the last table right in front of the smart board, it struck me that Sophie and I were at the same table. We cheered in victory! Then we learned that we sat across from each other. We cheered again! Little did I know that this would be the most annoying seat ever…

The trouble happened out of the blue, on a cool day in March ( I don’t really know if it was a cool day, but whatever).
” Owwwwwww,” she whispered, obviously in pain.
    ” What’s wrong,” I whispered back.
    “Growing pains.”
I could tell that she was in pain so I took her to the nurse. I knew what growing pains were, but I had only experienced them at night. I thought that my best friend was severely hurt the first couple of times, but then as it recurred every single day, I knew that nothing was wrong. After a while she would extend her legs to try to get rid of the pain and kick me.
” Owwwwww,” we would both say. Sophie in pain from growing and me in pain from her deadly kicks. I was relived, but sad when we had to move tables. It was fun having your best friend sit across from you, pains or not. What I learned, sadly, was that her growing pains only occurred for the time that she was sitting across from me. I had always thought, was it something I had done? But I knew it wasn’t.

That month hurt, but it was very fun!

  87. I was your BFF? Jk. I totally remember the Valentina story, but I do not know that we were dressed up as Knights battling with fake swords. Was I really like that back then? That was a funny and sad story that brought back many memories.

  88. Hey guys,
When Nicole and I were in the same class in second grade,
When we had our field day Nicole and I were both on the same team, grey (one of the worst colors.)
We were super happy that we were on the same team, so then on field day we accidentally went on the
Black team then we noticed thAt we had made a big mistake and accidentally we were giving them more points
Because in the beginning all the teams were even until we made that mistake we finally noticed that we were on the wrong team when we were doing tug a war.
And obviously you could tell which team won because of us…

  89. Hey Guys!
I have a funny moment from last year, in fourth grade. Now let me explain!

It was April of 2014 and Jeremiah (Stafford), and I were sent off to the work room to get 30 copies of a math sheet for Ms. Laudonia. What Jeremiah and I both thought was that this was gonna be like the other million times that we had got copies for our teachers – that we would just go get the copies and go back to our classroom unharmed. However when we walked into the copy room we thought differently. There standing (and dancing) in the room was Mrs. Carroll and Mrs. Sherry listening to the silliest of songs. Honestly, if that moment happened again I don’t know if we would’ve been laughing, but you know, me and Jeremiah got that awkward moment laugh. And as they asked every question of ours, and danced around us with their two arms taking turns to jump up and down in the air, we cracked up, couldn’t stop laughing, and started o dance along . Finally after what felt like a week of laughing, Jeremiah and I escaped the work room with the copies and bounded down the ramp talking about what had just happened. And in a way, we truly were harmed after that moment, in how they were so funny that they got us to laugh in the middle of class that day, and get ourselves in trouble.

For now on since that day every time we see Mrs. Carroll in the hallway we do the little dance move that we all did in that three minutes that will be remembered for countless years. I think this moment was truly special because it proved how the smallest things can be the biggest things too.

  90. Hi Lally!!
Something similar to that happened to me in first grade–I was at a different school then. My friend Janie and I were playing dinosaur and we decided that staplers looked exactly like them. We were making the “dinosaurs” chomp on imaginary food. Janie basically said “Lets make our fingers the food!” So I went first. Janie put two staples in my finger. My teacher called my mom and the nurse managed to get the staples out. You can still see where the staple hit me the worst on my middle finger. But Valentina’s finger was a lot worse than mine!
    Bye!!

  91. Hi! These is one of my Ox Ridge memories.

When I was in fourth grade, Mrs.Carroll was a student teacher in our class. She was a really good teacher, even though she was still learning. Last year we also were learning about the revolution, and everybody was in a group that focused on one event. I was in a group that was studying the Battles of Lexington and Concord.
Mrs. Carroll had a fun idea which was that you teach another group about your subject. This didn’t really go well though…
One problem was that it was the end of the year, so nobody really felt like doing anything. Even though Mrs. Carroll was a really good teacher, we spent the whole time having a drawing contest. We had already done this teaching thing, and we were all tired, so we just started doodling, and then the whole class had a drawing contest. That day was really fun!

  92. Hi Guys!!

One memory that sticks in my mind distinctly is when I had my first taste of wasabi and the first time anybody but my older brother had pranked me. I had no clue that it was wasabi or a prank, of course. I was in fourth grade and I was sitting with Abby, Sophie, Brooke, and Paige. Abby had wasabi with her lunch and she flinched whenever she had some. Luckily, for Abby and Sophie’s prank to work, I did not notice or suspect anything. I only worried about pranks at home. So at first it was just the typical everyday lunch. We talked and played “paper football” attempting to make field goals until Abby and Sophie recommended eating wasabi. Once again-I did not know what wasabi tasted like.

“This stuff is really good!” said Sophie, gesturing towards the wasabi. “You should defiantly have some.”

“YEAH!!” said Abby, “You have got to try some!!”

And so, that is what I did. I was just about to eat some when Sophie said “It only tastes good if you have a lot at the same time!”

    “Can I?” I asked Abby.

“Sure!!” she said–a little to enthusiastically.

I had almost half of the wasabi because Sophie and Abby kept on chanting “MORE, MORE, MORE!!!” I trusted them a little to much and I was wondering if this was a prank just when they stopped chanting. I figured they thought I had enough, so I ate it all. I defiantly regret that! The taste was overwhelmingly spicy, bitter, and gross. It tasted like…wasabi I guess. My face turned red and Sophie and Abby started laughing hysterically. They could not stop, and before long they started cackling!!

At that moment I decided that I would get revenge… but I never did because they each tried a lot of wasabi after they had control of their laughing fit!!

    Bye Guys!!

  93. Hi GWIS I thought your first one was great! But I have another version of the same story !!! So in the begining of the year GWIS was running the pacer test and was one of the 3 people left in his group!! Luke started screaming YEAH CHRIIIIIS! Whenever GWIS finished a lap. And then Logan and me turned Lukes low pitched cheer into a very high pitch nickname for GWIS!!!!! And now everybody (me and Logan) call GWIS – GWIS

    ____GWIS_____)_____FALLON_______))______LIKES________)))______THE_______))))____NICKNAME__________)))))______GWIS_______))))))__________________–CAMERON_______)))))))

  94. Hi everyone this is my Alumni Zone story I guess you would call it!
Mine is going to be the “CWEES” memory.
“YEAH CWEES” was what Luke Dehmel said in the middle of P.E. while the pacer test was going on while Luke was on the sideline. “Luke that was genius” I yelled, Then Cameron said “YEAH CWEES” and from that day on we call him CWEES. (The reason we call him CWEES, is because he said CWEES one day, and now we call him CWEES.)

The best part is when CWEES gets mad and he says “Logan Shut Up” but he is so awesome tough. ( I love today when CWEES got called on and Cameron said ” Yes CWEES”. I could not stop laughing after that.)

Shout Out To: CWEES, Cameron, and Luke.

  95. Hi!
I’m going to choose to write about my memories of fifth grade.
This one I remember like it was yesterday.
It was in the beginning of the year and I was doing the pacer test. I was one of the last few people still running when Luke started yelling “yeah Chriiiis!” Every time I ran by him. From there on, that is what Cameron and Logan say every day… yeah Chriiiis!

My next memory is starting football card trading.
It was the end of the day and I was trading baseball cards with Cameron…
“Hey! Why are there some football cards in here? questioned Cameron as he filed through my cards rapidly.
“I don’t know, I guess they just got mixed up in here’’
“I’ll bring mine tomorrow if you bring yours”
    Oka-BING screeched the announcements.
    We’re ready for buses 4…10…16… and 12.
    “That’s me!” Cameron called
    ‘Remember, football cards tomorrow!”
And just like that, a tradition was created.

So these are some memories from fifth grade!
